About me
My name is Notis (Panagiotis) Toufexis; I was until recently a research associate for the Grammar of Medieval Greek project at the University of Cambridge. I am co-authoring a new reference grammar of Medieval Greek (1100-1700); the grammar will be published by Cambridge University Press.
I studied Classics at the Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki but converted to Medieval Studies for my PhD at the University of Hamburg. I got my linguistic training working for 5 years at the Research Centre 538: Multilingualism of the University of Hamburg.
I am philologically orientated medievalist with strong linguistic interests and even stronger interests in digital humanities.
My research interests include:
- The sociolinguistics of Medieval and Early Modern Greek diglossia
- The long road towards a standard: From Medieval to Standard Modern Greek
- Electronic editions of Medieval and Early Modern Greek texts
This blog documents everything I do in my professional life. I hope you will find here something useful. Do contact me or leave a comment.
